GOLDEN VALLEY SENIORS 2007

When it came time to plan our celebration, we discussed a number of possibilities.  Our passports had not processed in a timely manner, so heading to Canada would wait for another day.  We finally settled on an ocean visit, (the first for us in the Northwest).  Betty located a bed and breakfast in Seaside, Oregon that seemed to be perfect for a get-a-way.  Reservations were set for a three day stay.

The weekend weather was perfect as we headed the van down the highways.  The weather would remain delightful through the entire time.  Our travel took us through some very scenic areas of northwest Oregon along the Columbia River as we headed to the coast.  We turned off US 30 at Astoria and continued down coastal highway 101 until reaching our destination.

The Gilbert InnThe Gilbert Inn, an Old Victorian style home built in 1892, was situated one block from the beach, and one block south of the main street of Seaside.  We chose the 1880's Suite which was on the first floor and quite roomy.  It had a full modern bath and a sitting room off the bedroom.  Mornings began with an eloquent  breakfast cooked and served by our gracious hosts, Harold and Janet.

These two pictures were taken in the doorway to the sitting room.  Surprise anniversary decorations were sent to the hosts by Kris.

The photographer forgot to bring the tripod; thus individual photos.
