Workbench

Why did I include this topic in my memories?  I don't know!  The workbench in the basement was the staging area for many projects around the house.  A wealth of tools were placed in specific locations as all well organized workbenches are.  It was a difficult lesson to learn and I was always in hot water for not returning tools to their proper location.  At the far end of the bench was a grindstone for sharpening the scythes and scycles.  Small jars were used to segregate the miriad of nuts, bolts, nails, and all sorts of hardware.

I used the area at one time or another to take apart broken alarm clocks that were supplied by my grandmother.  Never could get the darn things back together again.
